The EAMBES Fellows division is becoming re-established!
The EAMBES Symposium organized on March 14th, 2012 will see the launch of the EAMBES Division of Fellows and the induction of EAMBES Founding Fellows. During the meeting, organized in connection to the EAMBES General Assembly –March 13th,2012- leaders in the Biomedical Engineering community will present and discuss developments in our field.

Active and Healthy ageing: first documents published
The Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) of the Pilot European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing is now public. EAMBES was actively engaged in the consultation process the lead up to this publication.

Horizon 2020
EAMBES is currently analysing the proposal put forward by the European Commission, and preparing a response. This will then form the basis of subsequent policy actions in support of Biomedical Engineering research across Europe. Medical Device Directives revision
The EU legislative framework regulating the placing on the market and the classification of medical devices is expected to be revised shortly. EAMBES is monitoring developments and will provide an update when available.

A short interview with the Treasurer of EAMBES: Prof. Dr Keita Ito
At the last General Council election, the representative of TU/e -Eindhoven University of Technology- Keita Ito, was nominated as a Councillor of the Alliance and then unanimously elected Treasurer by the new Council. The following interview will reveal more about his background, his involvement in Biomedical Engineering and the way he plans to contribute to the future of EAMBES.
